Job Description

The Physician's Assistant role is to support and/or provide assistance to the attending physician which will promote optimal care for the patient to include the surgical setting. The attending physician will assume full responsibility for the perioperative actions of the PA. This position is responsible for providing quality health care services in the clinic, emergency room and hospital. This includes, but is not limited to, providing patient assessments through patient exams, patient medical history, interpretation of required diagnostic procedures, and developing/implementing treatment and management plans. Requires working closely with physicians and hospital staff.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an orthopedic surgery assistant, will be confident in providing inpatient and outpatient consultations, flexible and available for practice call on weekends and an occasional holiday.
Must hold a valid Arizona license from the Joint Board on the Regulation of Physician's Assistants. NCCPA certification required. Extensive training and experience in emergency room and clinical practice. Must have good interpersonal skills and demonstrate behaviors consistent with those identified as Banner core behavior. Must have sufficient experience, confidence, and judgment to function with little outside direction. Ability to maintain CME currency as required to maintain NCCPA certification.
PREFERRRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ACLS, ATLS certifications desirable.
