Provides individualized diabetes self-management education/training to individuals and groups according to the Scope of Practice, Standards of Practice, and Standards of Professional performance for Diabetes Educators (AADE, 2005).

Must be Certified Diabetes Educator with minimum 6 months experience.

FL RN License

BLS Certification

In-depth knowledge about current diabetes treatment management.
Able to lead and effectively manage groups.
Ability to develop a collaborative, therapeutic alliance with individuals.
Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others.
Assertiveness
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment.
Basic computer skills.
